We are seeking an experienced Senior MongoDB Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure our database infrastructure. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring our MongoDB databases are robust, scalable, and optimized for performance, helping support critical business functions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices, manage data replication, and implement monitoring to maintain optimal database health and security

Read before applying: This role is on-site in Mexico City, 5 days/week. The client is still setting up an office, so for the moment a WeWork co-working office is being considered in either Polanco or Santa Fe. This is a long-term position with a company that has a lot of developers and a stable path to long-term future growth. Remote is not an option for this company.

 

Required Skills

- 5+ years of experience with MongoDB database administration in a production environment

- Proven expertise in performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization in MongoDB

- Proficient in data replication, backup, and recovery strategies for high-availability

- Strong knowledge of MongoDB security best practices, including user access control and data encryption

- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) for database deployment and configuration

- Familiarity with monitoring tools, such as Grafana, Prometheus, or MongoDB Ops Manager

- Solid understanding of data modeling and schema design in MongoDB

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues

 

Bonus Skills

- Certification in MongoDB (e.g., MongoDB Certified DBA)

- Experience with other NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, Redis)

- Knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS) and their database management options

- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC)

 

 

Process To Know For Applicants :

5. Onboarding and Probation Period

Successful candidates proceed to onboarding, which includes a two-week paid probation period.

The probation phase ensures that candidates meet the performance expectations and project requirements.
