About the role:

Reporting to Ruroc’s Tech Director, you will be instrumental to our small team of web developers by developing new features for the website whilst maintaining existing ones. You’ll also provide valuable input on technical decisions to ensure development is taking the best possible approach. You will be hands-on with the codebase, and therefore will be contributing significantly to the development of major features that the team works on.

We are seeking a highly skilled Full-Stack Magento Developer with strong experience in building scalable, predictable, high-quality, and high-performance eCommerce applications. Core responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Develop major features and maintain existing ones. To do this, you will need to know the front-end and back-end codebase inside-out and be confident developing for Magento 2.
• Be responsible, with the rest of the team, for the front-end of the website, including both the UI and UX.
• Design and develop concepts for stakeholders which meet both their and our customer’s needs.
• Write clean, efficient code which meets the project’s quality standards, and suggest changes to those standards where necessary.
• Collaborate with the team to define technical requirements for new features. The business is constantly evolving, and the requirements should always keep this in mind. Features will have to be continuously updated - defining future-proof requirements will assist with this.
• Provide assistance to other developers where required to help execute these goals.
• Occasionally vet third-party code that is introduced to the codebase to ensure that it meets standards, and that it meets Magento’s best practices as well as our codebase’s.
• Able to handle work for both campaigns and BAU, often at the same time.
• Use both your Magento and software development expertise to occasionally assist with improving our team’s efficiency and effectiveness via new software, tools, processes, etc. 
• Review pull requests from other developers to ensure they meet the tech team’s quality standards, and that it’s the correct approach to the feature/problem.
