The Infosec Engineer role has the following responsibilities:
Security Architecture and Design:
- Participate in the design and implementation of secure network architectures.
- Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential weaknesses.
- Recommend and implement security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and data encryption.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures.
Threat Detection and Response:
- Monitor security logs and alerts for suspicious activity.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents in a timely and effective manner.
- Analyze incident data to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to implement remediation plans.
Security Automation and Scripting:
- Automate routine security tasks to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop scripts for vulnerability scanning, log analysis, and incident response.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging security automation tools and technologies.
Reporting:
- Effectively communicate security risks and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Document security processes and procedures clearly and concisely.
Qualifications:
The Infosec Engineer role has the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in information security, with a focus on network security.
- Strong understanding of security principles and best practices (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
- Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners).
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Security+).
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies.
- Experience with Cybersecurity Framework.
