Key Responsibilities

● Lead the technical strategy and product development roadmap for the Wasafiri App

● Oversee AWS cloud architecture for performance, scalability, and cost optimization

● Work closely with our external app development partner to manage delivery timelines and code quality

● Set up and integrate customer support tools (Freshdesk Contact Center, WhatsApp, chatbots etc)

● Build and automate a secure, AI-enhanced customer experience, including self-service journeys

● Recruit, lead, and inspire a small in-house technical team as we scale

● Monitor system performance, data protection, and compliance with global standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS)

● Collaborate with the Founder/CEO on product vision, reporting, and business growth alignment

🧠 Requirements

● 2–3 years’ experience in software engineering, DevOps, or technical leadership

● Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront)

● Familiar with mobile app stacks (e.g., React Native, Flutter, Firebase, Node.js)

● Previous experience working in remote or hybrid teams

● Proven ability to manage external tech vendors and partners

● Strong understanding of cybersecurity, APIs, and cloud architecture best practices

● Exposure to AI tools or automation platforms a major plus

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

● Must be based in Nairobi or willing to relocate
